NOT ENOUGH FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool enjoyed having the upper hand of possession throughout the entirety of their match against Chelsea but it wasn’t enough for the side of Brendan Rodgers to claim the victory.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea defensive playing style neutralized all of the efforts that were launched at them. When the match concluded Brendan Rodgers tried to motivate his players as there are only 2 matches that Liverpool has to play and they should continue on by learning from their recent mistakes.

“Our objective is for ourselves. We now need to win the two games and see where it takes us’’.

“Then we will be fine. The players have been absolutely fantastic. We’ll now focus on Crystal Palace and see where that takes us. I said how proud I was of them, because they were absolutely fantastic. We’ve been on a run of games and the games that we’ve won have been exceptional’’.

“To lose is obviously a big disappointment, because we haven’t had many games that we have lost. But we’ll take that on the chin; this is a great group of players, a very honest group, and we’ll continue to work on.” Rodgers said.
Rodgers went on criticizing Chelsea’s gameplay as the Northern Irish coach said that the team of Jose Mourinho parked 2 buses instead of just 1.

“They parked two buses, rather than one. From the first minute they had 10 men behind the ball. We were the team trying to win but we just couldn’t make the breakthrough.” Rodgers added on.

This defeat ended the 11 consecutive triumphs of Liverpool and not only that but more importantly is that the Premier League title is in the hands of Manchester City as they have a significantly better goal difference than Liverpool and if they manage on winning all of their remaining matches then City will be crowned as the champions of the Premier League
