The city’s iconic player posters, which once illuminated its skyscrapers, are all gone. The country has resumed its pre-tournament appearance, as have the ticketing booths, Hayya Service Centres, and other tournament assistance points. Moreover, the eight World Cup competition arenas must be fulfilled now. Each stadium has a distinctive design, making them masterpieces of architecture. They have cutting-edge facilities to enhance the fan experience and leave lasting impressions on the games they host.

After the World Cup, there will be less demand for these arenas due to Qatar’s small size. What will become of the stadiums now that they have become worldwide icons? In 2010, the Supreme Committee set out to create a long-lasting legacy following the World Cup. As a result, each of the eight stadiums will be utilized in some way. FIFA announced on Thursday that 2.45 million tickets have been sold for the World Cup in Qatar. A total of 520,532 tickets were sold during the last sales period running from July 5 to August 16, mainly group match tickets such as Cameroon vs Brazil, Brazil vs Serbia, Portugal vs Uruguay, Costa Rica vs Germany, and Australia vs Denmark.

According to FIFA, residents in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, England, Argentina, Brazil, Wales and Australia led the number of tickets bought during the last period. Another sales phase will begin at the end of September at a date still to be confirmed and run until the end of the tournament when tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Over-the-counter sales will also begin in Doha after the launch of the last-minute sales phase. (more…)

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he is unlikely to be stepping into the World Cup 2022 as a national team manager or as a pundit, as he is planning a swift return to club football management. The Portuguese recently was sacked from his role at Manchester United after just under three years.

He is once again on the lookout for a new job with the likes of Paris St Germain being interested in his services. The Portuguese was recently seen visiting Qatar in order to look at the various preparations going on for the World Cup 2022 – including the construction of several new stadiums. (more…)
