With
thanks to Fernando and Pines CondorsSplendid ground condition was the recipe for a well fought soccer match. Pine Condors attacked well with a clear chance of goal within minutes between player against keeper but a bit of hesitation was enough for Frankston Strikers to survive this one which will cost Pine Condors dearly. A few hard contested balls resulted in some yellow cards, but overall the match was played in a fair manner by both teams. Frankston Strikers only goal came from a silly mistake from midfield that resulted in Pines Condors defence being caught short on manpower with a well placed high ball into the small area and finishing with a clear head shot to the far bottom post. Pine Condors tried to get through many times but always encountered a wall of yellow shirts. A few good runs on the wing with quick crosses but to no avail. Frankston had an opportunity to increase the score when a good move resulted in a Pine Condors foul inside the area in which the player was sent off due to an early yellow, penalty kick, but the shot hit the horizontal bar returning to the same player who shot back for goal but disallowed for being offside as the rule book implies. In the dying minutes of the match, a counter attack from Pines Condors put their forward in clear chance of an equaliser but the move was ruled offside to the frustration of the Pine Condors public. A good typical soccer match, as a bias playing player with Pines Condors we should have played smarter, using all of our players to the maximum. We had chances but not many, but only because we missed some clear chances of quick passing, instead decided for the individual moves. Better luck next time... Next match at Montrose Ground, 11 am kick off, be there !! |
