Another 6 Goal Thriller.
Brunswick City 3 vs Langwarrin 3
Scorer Caleb Nichols x 3

Langwarrin travelled to Brunswick to take on Brunswick City in what Was expected to be a very tough game and they were not let down. In for the starting 11 this week was Rados and starting his first game back from his longterm injury was Elliott Brookes. On the bench was Libba, Andrew Skledar and Greg Kilner. Brunswick who has never been beaten all season at home started off brightly but could not find a way to goal.

Langy started to get back into the game and on the very small tight ground it was always going to be a battle in the midfield. The tackles were flying in and Papdopolous received a yellow after two bad tackles within a minute. Caleb and Ben Caffrey were starting to get into the game more with Ben earning a free kick about 30 yards out with 30mins to go. Up stepped Big Caleb and hit it into the top right hand corner, brilliant goal. Brunswick piled on the pressure for the rest of the half and Chris Jones in goal pulled off a couple of brilliant deflected saves. But that's how it stayed till half time one nil to the Langyboys.

Langwarrin started the second half in confident mood with Caleb causing the defence all sorts of trouble, he went on one run and as he went into the penalty box he was bumped off the ball with shouts for a penalty turned rightly down. But it wasn't long before Lnagy was two up and again, it was from another free kick. This time as the keeper was setting up his wall a quick thinking Caleb knocked the ball into the empty net. Langy were coasting now and looking good for all 3 points, but with 20mins to go a very slack pass on the wing allowed Brunswick to break down the righthand side to get a great cross in and score a goal.....it was game on now with Brunswick all fired up. They put the Langy defence under great pressure with Chriss Jones pulling off a few great reflex saves.

However he couldn't stop the onslaught and Brunswick were on level terms when a deflected shot wrong footed Jones inside the penalty box to make it 2 each. Langy now were struggling to stay in the game and could not win a thing, then in a 60-40 tackle at the half way line Langy lost it, Brunswick broke down the left hand side sent in another great cross and Straface was on hand to make it 3-2 to Brunswick. With about 8 mins left it looked like a question of how many more goals for Brunswick, but this Langy team dosnt know how to give up. With a 3 pronged attack now of Caleb, Ben and Greg Kilner they managed to break into the penalty area with Ben Caffrey in hot pursuit. With his back to goal and near the goal line Ben was going nowhere but the Brunswick player rattled into the back of his legs and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot. Up stepped big Caleb who cooly slotted it home to make the score 3-3. Brunswick pushed forward again looking for the winner and with a minute to go had a penalty appeal turned down when Adam Pool made a desperate tackle in the box, sometimes those are given and other times not (but if you ask Pooley he says it was a F#*@ing Quality tackle)

So that's how it stayed 3 each, Langy still undefeated and a another great result away from home. Not many teams would have been able to equalise against a rampant opposition, who was making a great comeback from being two goals down. The lads showed some great fighting spirit and with the Skipper Darren McGlenaghan and Chris Quinn still to come back things can only get better.

Best for Langy
Chris Jones
Caleb Nicoles
Elliott Brookes
