A determined and disciplined Heatherton United won a vital match against a struggling Frankston Strikers with a four goal second half to easy take the points home.

For Heatherton United nothing short of victory was required have any chance of keeping Waverley Wanderers and Clayton, the current league leaders, in sight for the chance of winning promotion at the end of the season. With the pressure on for the win it was Pekmezovic who stepped up to the challenge with a massive four goal hauling.

Heatherton United also showed they have there heads on their shoulders as they held to their game plan when the Strikers frustration, after the third goal was conceded, saw they men in gold go in hard for the tackles in a desperate bid to fight themselves back into the contest . The win also was greeted with the news that Clayton and Waverley Wanderers played out a 0 - 0 draw and therefore closing the gap between themselves and the league leaders.

For Frankston Strikers they unfortunately lack the quality today in front of goal but hopefully will bounce back to a stronger performances in the weeks to come.
