Bayside Premier League Preview

3pm KNOX CITY (4th) v CHELSEA YOUNG BOYS (1st)
Egan Lee Reserve, Wallace Avenue, Knoxfield, Mel 73 A3

The pressure is now on Chelsea Young Boys after a lost last round to Westernport and it will be intriguing to see how they handle it. Knox City has now dropped out of contention for the league title but this could mean they have far less to lose in this encounter. Has the Chelsea train to the title been derailed or just delayed?

3pm PINES CONDORS (8th) v BORONIA KNIGHTS (6th)
Frankston Pines Soccer Club, Monterey Boulevard, Frankston North, Mel 98 K6

The Pines Condors suspension has been uplifted and it will be Boronia Knights that will travel to Monterey Boulevard with both teams desperately needing the points to fiend of the threat of relegation. Both teams are on 18pts and only four between them and the rapidly improving Custcatlan, who currently holds second last place and the final relegation placing. It will be interesting to see how the enforced break will have affected the Condors on field performance, for better or worse, as they where at one stage contesting for the league top spot.

3pm CUSCATLAN (9pt) v HAMPTON PARK UNITED (2nd)
Heatherhill Secondary College, 1 Wardale Street, Springvale South, Mel 89 B2

A tricky away encounter for second placed Hampton Park. Cuscatlan had a slow start to the season - their first ever Premier League season – but has produced headaches for opposition in recent rounds including two draws to Knox City & Boronia Knights and also a great win away to Rosebud. Hampton Park well knows that victory is the only result they can do with. A slip up at this very late stage of the season could very well spell the end of their challenge.

3pm WESTERNPORT (7th) v ENDEAVOUR SPORT (10th)
Westernport Secondary College, High Street, Hastings, Mel 154 E11

Westernport are making huge inroads for a top half finish to the season after consecutive wins against highfliers Croydon Ranges and Chelsea Young Boys. It is doubtful that Endeavour Sports will prove to be much of a challenge but after the win against Boronia Knights two weeks ago maybe they have gained the much needed confidence boost after a torrid season.

3pm CROYDON RANGES (3rd) v ROSEBUD ( 5th)
Richard Silcock Reserve, William Road, Croydon, Mel 38 G3

Croydon Ranges fired four goals against quality opponent Knox City last weekend to move into third position and should be favorites for the win against Rosebud. Rosebud’s form into this match is two consecutive losses that have drop the club to fifth position. It may be too late of a challenge by Croydon Ranges for the league title this season but so far they are setting up what may be a glorious season in 2006.
