3pm
CROYDON RANGES v KNOX CITY
Richard Silcock Reserve, William Road, Croydon, Mel 38 G3
Last Meet : KC (2 - 1) CR
This should be a cracker of a match, with Croydon Ranges desperately
needing a win from this match, to have any hope of finishing second in
the league. Croydon's lost last weekend to Westernport halted a superb
undefeated run in the previous six matches and no doubt will be out
to prove a point, or three, this weekend. For Knox City, they gained a
vital victory over second placed Hampton Park United last weekend
and in doing so closed the gap to Hampton Park, to only two points.
It has been a great debut season in the Bayside League for Knox
City, but they cannot manage to put two wins together.
1pm ENDEAVOUR SPORTS v PINES CONDORS
James Cook Res, James Cook Drive, Endeavour Hills, Mel 91 B5
Last Meet : PC (5 - 3) ES
Still awaiting results from appeals tribunal in regards to Pines
Condors suspension of the competition. Stay tuned.
3pm CHELSEA YOUNG BOYS v WESTERNPORT
H.D. Thomas Reserve, Edithvale Road, Edithvale, Mel 93 C9
Last Meet : WP (0 - 2) CYB
Chelsea Young Boys are without a doubt the most consistent team in
the league and whilst two of their ten wins are courtesy of
walkovers, they are still unquestioned in their ability. Chelsea,
though, may be facing a bigger challenge than they may wish for as
Westernport have proven to be a dangerous team on any given day.
Westernport deservedly won last weekend at home to Croydon Ranges,
but like Knox City, they lack the consistency to put wins back to back.
3pm BORONIA KNIGHTS v CUSCATLAN
H.V. Jones Reserve, Corner Kingston Street & Ashton Rd, Ferntree
Gully, Mel 73 G5
Last Meet : BK (5 - 0) CUS
Not too long ago you would have undoubting put a tick in the win
column for Boronia Knights against Cuscatlan, but the recent form of
both of these clubs would very much suggest otherwise. It may be now
considered a shock if Boronia does get all three points, after a
humiliating 3 – 1 lost to bottom place Endeavour Sports last
weekend. Second last Cuscatlan have done well recently and gained a
victory at Rosebud last weekend. A win here and a lost for
Westernport will catapult Cuscatlan out of the relegation zone and
will also
put Boronia firmly in that very battle.
3pm HAMPTON PARK UNITED v ROSEBUD
KM Reedy Reserve, Pound Road, Hampton Park, Mel 96 B5
Last Meet : RB (0 - 1) HPU
Long time rivals meet once again with a lot on stake in this massive
match at KM Reedy Reserve. Hampton Park United are currently
occupying second but still seem to lack that spark and consistency
to mount a full scaled assault for top spot. Rosebud's loss at home
to Cuscatlan last weekend has almost dashed their title chances for
2005. Still, you know that both teams will be throwing everything
into this match as second place in the league is still very much
wide open.
