Milito Playing Less and Less

Diego Milito fell behind in the pecking order of Inter Milan and this can be seen by his last 2 seasons when performing at the Italian club where he only managed to make 37 league appearances during both seasons.

The Argentinean forward was playing less and less of an important role in Inter Milan which played an important role in the decision of the Italian side Inter Milan in releasing him as well as Milito deciding to continue playing the last few years of his career at a place where his chances of playing are higher, the veteran player ultimately opted to go with his childhood team, Racing Club.

URUGUAY FACE COLOMBIA

Uruguay is going to play against Colombia in the FIFA World Cup pre quarter final match at Estadio de Maracana on the upcoming Saturday.

Both the teams played some fantastic football in the group round. Uruguay, although, had not got off to the best of starts as in their very first game, they had been handed 1-3 humiliation by Costa Rica, but, the way they recovered from that loss was remarkable. They beat two strong teams i.e. England and Italy in their last two matches to advance to the Round of 16.

The inclusion of the star player Luis Suarez in the line up made a big difference for Uruguay. The Liverpool forward was on the sidelines in the game against Costa Rica and Uruguay’s attack didn’t look that penetrative. But, as soon as he came in against England, La Celeste appeared to have much more firepower upfront.

Brazil continue to struggle

With the hope and expectations of a nation on their shoulders, Brazil have so far failed to really wow during their opening two games at this FIFA World Cup. The hosts came back from a goal down against Croatia in their opening game of the tournament to claim a somewhat fortunate 3-1 win, but the Selecao couldn’t give their home fans much to shout about as they struggled to a 0-0 draw against Mexico in their second group game.

NOT ENOUGH FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool enjoyed having the upper hand of possession throughout the entirety of their match against Chelsea but it wasn’t enough for the side of Brendan Rodgers to claim the victory.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea defensive playing style neutralized all of the efforts that were launched at them. When the match concluded Brendan Rodgers tried to motivate his players as there are only 2 matches that Liverpool has to play and they should continue on by learning from their recent mistakes.

“Our objective is for ourselves. We now need to win the two games and see where it takes us’’.

WINNING FEELING

Ac.Milan triumph against Catania was the 4th consecutive victory for the Italian club under the guidance of Clarence Seedorf who has slowly been trying to pick up the team and finish the season on a respectable spot in the Serie A.

Seedorf replaced Allegri and took charge of the club earlier at the beginning of the year in January and it seems that despite the mediocre season that Ac.Milan has been going through, the players still want to continue playing with the club as it was revealed when the agent of Stephan El Shaarawy said that his client wants to continue wearing the Ac.Milan even though there are offers of other clubs on the table.

TOTTENHAM MAKE THEIR MOVE

Last year Tottenham failed to secure a top 4 spot in the Premier League and they also had to see one of their star players, Gareth Bale joining Real Madrid just like Luka Modric did the previous year and the possibility of Tim Sherwood losing another star player is becoming likely as Jan Vertonghen has stated his desire of playing in the Champions League.

The future of Jan Vertonghen will be far away from White Hart Lane if Tottenham is unable on securing a Champions League qualification spot.

‘’What I want is to be playing in the Champions League with Tottenham, so I hope we get in this year. Do I have a decision to make if we don’t? I can’t say anything about that. Let’s see after the end of the season, after the World Cup.” Vertonghen revealed.

SHERWOOD TAKING OVER

White Hart Lane is home to a new coach as Tim Sherwood was appointed as the new tactician of the club and has already overcome some of his toughest tasks of his career by claiming a 2-1 victory against Manchester United some days ago and has been getting positive results in the small lapse of time since taking in his new role in Tottenham.

Sherwood has never managed or coached a 1st team before in his career and already made some big changes as he switched out the preferred 4-2-3-1 formation that Andre Villas-Boas used on the Premier League club and the change has seem to be given the approval of the players as they did not enjoy the tactics used by Villas-Boas.
